Frequently asked questions
Where do these gold rates come from?
Every page starts from the live XAU/USD price from our TradingView price feed, the same feed that powers the homepage, and converts it with a daily reference exchange rate from ExchangeRate-API. Nothing is estimated or typed in by hand.
Why is my jeweller's price different?
Jewellers and bullion dealers add making charges, local taxes such as VAT or GST, import costs and their own premium. Some markets also use their own exchange rate. These pages show the plain international value so you can see how big that difference is.
How often do the rates update?
The gold price updates through the day while the market is open (roughly Monday to Friday). The exchange rate updates once a day. When the market is closed, each page says so and shows the time of the last price.
